Spring is here! Have your Orangery extension designed and quickly approved ready for those summer months.

With spring now here a lot of my clients are looking at what they can do to upgrade or remodel their properties.
I am suggesting that the type of extension which give them the best space and wow factor is an Orangery or sunlounge across the back of their house.
This can be approved very quickly as it is likely that we can design it as a permitted development ‘PD’ extension. Surprisingly this can be as large as the full width of your house and extending out rearwards up to 6.0m on a semi detached house (or terrace) or 8.0m on a detached house.
With ‘PD’ on this type of extension your builder could be on site as quick as 4 weeks from the design being agreed.
Remember that an orangery is the modern way to do the old-fashioned ubiquitous conservatory.
It is an extension with plenty of windows and possibly rooflights in a pitched roof or even a lantern light in a flat roof. The difference being that the room is no longer cold in the winter and too hot in the summer.
The image shown is one of our most recent Orangeries where our client with a semi detached house wanted to enlarge the living space at the back of his house to create an open dining and lounge off an extended kitchen area. You can see that this one has a very large lantern light in the room.
